thefairymelusine: line drawing of a knight lying by a bank of flowers (Default)
So I've decided that facing up is possibly the mundane thing which is most likely to make you die of boredom/realise it's all meaningless. For those of you who don't work in retail, facing up is when you tidy the shelves, bring things to the front, normally starting with the most battered in the hope you'll finally sell that. And it's completely pointless and thankless in an hardware store, since no one cares whether the ant killer is neatly displayed, and they will send it into disarray five minutes later. But much though facing up is pointless, it is at least more interesting than the checkout- a job which is both terrifying and mundane. Why on earth would anyone leave me in charge of handling and distributing money? I'm dyspraxic, clumsy and bad with dealing with people. And there is the long dark teatime of the soul period in which no-one comes into the shop.

sorry, this is just a ramble/rant. I am aiming to find something meaningful in working in Dyas. I doubt there is anything.
