So I did another LJ trawl, and found a meme, which is at the bottom of this entry. Because of course you all want to know about my day in list form. Sadly, my hair is not blonde, so no amusing photos are to be had, but I hold out hope for brighter purple hair. My mother is relieved it's not brighter, as it is currently just about suitable for office work. Have rediscovered my love for "A Place of Greater Safety" because of the chapter "Danton: His Portrait Made" which has lovely meditations on fictionalising things and the fact that Danton hardly wrote anything (which makes finding his voice tricky) and then a fantastic bit of narration from Danton. Found my own copy of Crime and Punishment, which means I can return the library copy. Am going to a comics convention on Sunday, which should be fun. I doubt I can afford to meet James Marsters though. Am wearing a corset, which always improves the day, and a pretty tudor jacket that I stole from my mother. Have about a week's work at the Royal Court Theatre soon which is PAID. Joy.

Wearing: Pink doc martens, black trousers, black and grey striped shirt under a black corset, burgundy velvet tudor style jacket. I like my outfit today

Hair: Dark purple straightened bob to about shoulder length. Am a bit annoyed at the hairdresser for not dying it blonde so I could go for a really bright purple, but it looks okay.

Makeup: Death eyeliner (black eyeliner with a squiggle under one eye)

Ate today: A satsuma.

Last thing said: "How's Foucault going?" (to my Dad about his law revision. Unsuprisingly, he is reading Foucault for Jurisprudence)

Last phone call: From James, mostly about plans for the weekend and seeing him and Mark.

In your bag: A pen, an old travel journal I'm rereading and using as a notebook, "A Place of Greater Safety", eyeliner, oyster card, money, pretty notebook, handouts from the meeting to which I went last night.

Last watched on TV: A song from "My Name is Earl" on 4oD

Plans for tomorrow: Go to the British Library and register for a reader's card, taking a small child to cubs, finishing "A Place of Greater Safety"

Last thing bought: Last thing I paid for was my hair being dyed yesterday

Listening to: "Friday I'm In Love" by the Cure. A very happy song.

Last showered: Had a bath this morning.

Looking forward to: Comic convention on Sunday.

Worst part of the day: 9.56am, when those morons who do the late morning show on 6music came on four minutes early.

Best part of the day: Rereading "Danton: His Portrait Made" (a chapter of "A Place of Greater Safety") and remembering why I love that book so much. Oh, and finding that my black and grey striped shirt looks okay with the corset.

Favorite person of the day: Does it have to be someone I know? So, not Maximilien Robespierre? Dammit! [profile] resurgamlaura for ringing me just now and suggesting tea.

Thinking about: How to dye my hair a brighter purple.

Current annoyance: Wisdom teeth coming through

Current obsession: Maximilien Isadore Francois de Robespierre. Of course.

Random TMI: My gums bleed whenever I brush my teeth. This worries me.

Feeling: quite bored, but happily anticipating tea

God I hate those morons on the 10-1 show. I think his name is George Lamb. Sigh. The Weekend listing more than makes up for it though, with Guy Garvey and Adam&Joe, among others.

Have you signed up yet? I feel that it is quite necessary for you to do so. So we can go to the rare books and find more 19th Century erotica :P Ah, I must make you read Teleny, perhaps because it is so awful past the first ten or so pages where the protagonist is falling madly in love with Teleny, this pianist who is quite fab too, but actually a bit of a git. There's also the most amusing bit in a weird "private party" which my recollections cannot express.
